For Christmas 2023 I was commissioned by Glass & Wick to create illustrations for their annual wax melt advent Calendar.
Remove the belly band from this luxury calendar and you will see a starry sky filled with migrating turtledove’s against a full bright moon. The theme for the calendar was based upon the quote, ‘At Christmas, all roads lead home’ by Marjorie Holmes, and this initial cover illustration was intended to give a hint to what lies inside.
Open the double doors of this book style advent calendar and you will find a cosy wintery scene of a little girl looking out into the snowy countryside, little houses lit up as people cosy up at home for Christmas. The migrating turtledoves are mirrored here too, flying across the beautiful full moon.
Behind each of the 24 doors lies a unique hand poured wax melt with an accompanying illustration to showcase each of the wonderful scent notes. From cyclamen to honey, teakwood to pomander each illustration was hand drawn in fine liner to compliment the rest of the calendars design.
