Glass & Wick Advent Calendar 2025
After the wonderful success of 2023’s Advent Calendar I was beyond excited for the Glass & Wick team to approach me once more to create their 2025 offering.
Bianca’s creativity is infectious, and for this design her inspiration came from a small mouse who had been visiting the barn where they create their beautiful soy wax products. She imagined a wondrous secret world of woodland animals who sneak into the barn to borrow Glass & Wick products, taking them away to the warmth of their burrow homes beneath an old oak tree. And so the tagline, Magic Lives in the Little Things was born.
Inspired by the cosy and nostalgic worlds of Beatrix Potter I created this detailed and immersive illustration of woodland burrows filled with scenes of Christmas cheer. A mole keeping cosy by the fire, lighting the logs with his Glass & Wick matches; a fox snuggling in bed with their wax melt burner as a night light; two badgers exchanging Glass & Wick gifts, and three bunnies dancing around their Christmas tree, paper crowns on heads, playing instruments.
Once again I was sure to include many small and sentimental touches that elevated the calendar; the Glass & Wick barn illustrated on the horizon, their beloved dog Angel peeking behind the tree, and Glass & Wick products peppered throughout each scene. Behind each door on the calendar there was also an illustration taken from the large scale piece, as well as some extra special illustrations that reflect the magic of the season.
Finally, I was asked to create a bookmark that would be included with each calendar, a personal message written from myself included on the back; a lovely little touch that they were keen to include to help keep that connect myself to the buyers and show the person behind the artwork.
